Last weekend, we had to grab a gift for my cousins daughter's birthday party, so the kids and I made a run to Target.
I should preface this by saying that I bring the kids to Target, but we do not frequent the toy section. We don't avoid it, we just don't have a need to visit that area of the store.
Anyway, so I already had it in my mind that we were going to buy a teeny, tiny baby doll. When we got to the doll aisle, Gabby was AWE. I don't think I can put into words.
Seriously, jaw dropped open, touching every single doll.
"Mommy! This baby has a car seat!" She then proceeds to tell me that she's "getting this one", as she's pulling a large box off the shelf.
I said, "No, we aren't buying a baby for you today, you'll have to ask for one for Christmas."
She continues to touch each baby on the shelves then turns to me and says, "No, I'm going to get this one instead!" (she's too enamored to even have heard what I said previously).
I said, "Well, you'll have to ask Santa for it, we are not buying a baby for you today."
After a very short pause she says, in a what in the WORLD are you talking about tone,
"WHO'S SANTA?!"
(we had a refresher at home) :)
