Building A (Blanket) Tent

Say What?!

Gabby was supposed to get her tonsils out last week, but ended up with a fever and diagnosed wtih tonsillitis (da of, and first that she's had it - what are the odds?!). She was adamant that she was not sick. When my mom was helping her get undressed from her hospital clothes and back into the clothes she wore there, she asked why we were leaving. My mom told her that she wasn't having surgery becuase she was sick, to which she responds, "I already told them, I'm NOT sick!"

The following Sunday, I said to Gabs, "oh boy, you feel warm" (as i felt her forehead). She responds, "you want me to be cold, Mommy?"

Yesterday on the way home, Gabs was telling me she was sad because Lilly had gum at daycare and she did not. I told her if she could get through the car ride home without whining, I would give her a piece of gum, then asked her where Lilly got the gum from. She says (in an annoyed tone that you'd expect from, say, a thirteen year old), “From DEREK! I already said that! Oh, WOW.”

Isaac has been adding more and more words to his vocabulary. Shoes, cheers, socks, up, more, dog, to name a few. It's so exciting to see him start to put it all together and make sense of things!
