Building A (Blanket) Tent

Say What?!

Gabby was supposed to get her tonsils out last week, but ended up with a fever and diagnosed wtih tonsillitis (da of, and first that she's had it - what are the odds?!). She was adamant that she was not sick. When my mom was helping her get undressed from her hospital clothes and back into the clothes she wore there, she asked why we were leaving. My mom told her that she wasn't having surgery becuase she was sick, to which she responds, "I already told them, I'm NOT sick!"

The following Sunday, I said to Gabs, "oh boy, you feel warm" (as i felt her forehead). She responds, "you want me to be cold, Mommy?"

Yesterday on the way home, Gabs was telling me she was sad because Lilly had gum at daycare and she did not. I told her if she could get through the car ride home without whining, I would give her a piece of gum, then asked her where Lilly got the gum from. She says (in an annoyed tone that you'd expect from, say, a thirteen year old), “From DEREK! I already said that! Oh, WOW.”

Isaac has been adding more and more words to his vocabulary. Shoes, cheers, socks, up, more, dog, to name a few. It's so exciting to see him start to put it all together and make sense of things!

Looooonnnng Time! - October Update

So, I know it's been a long time since I've posted. I didn't intentionally skip the past two months, but we've been busy!

A very brief summary for October:

Patrick and I took a weekend trip to visit Shawn and Lindsay in LA. We had a great time hanging with them and checking out their Color Me Mine store in Pasadena and helping out where needed. And then we created a few masterpieces! We miss them and wish we could see them more often!

We did a number of trick or treating events with the kids to celebrate Halloween.

The Sears fam visited just before Halloween and the guys took the girls to a daddy/daughter princess dance. They had fun!

Say What?!

My sister was in town (sans her family) from Indiana this past weekend. On Friday night, the kids and I hung out with my sisters & parents at my parents house. I put the kids to bed there and played cards with my mom and sisters. I loaded the kids in the car at about 1130pm to head home. Isaac stayed awake on the ride home and silently watched out the window. When we got to the stop light just outside of our development, I looked over my shoulder and whispered, "We're home."

He looked at me, dazed, and said in a sweet little voice, "ohm".

Melt my heart!

Apple Orchard 2012

We have made a yearly tradition to visit the apple orchard with the Burback family. The girls always have a fabulous time together and, right now, all Isaac needs is some room to run and he's a happy camper! Next visit, I'm sure that baby Adam & Isaac will be stirring up trouble together!

tractor/train ride

hayride (Isaac and I decided to forego this one and do some running in the field)

seriously, never stops moving!

do you think he's having fun?!

Tumbling

Gabby started tumbling a couple of weeks ago. This class was a perfect opportunity for her to get some exposure without a big investment, since we weren't sure she'd love it. But, she's having a great time! We go once/week for 45 minutes. Seven little girls and one teenage instructor (who does a fantastic job with the kids). So much fun!
